ChrisWesemael

CW Performance Britcar Endurance Championship Driver

Hi there!

I’m Chris Wesemael, or ‘Chippy’ to those who know me.

I’m a 25-year-old racing driver from Wiltshire, United Kingdom.

Having competed in karting since the age of 13, in my first year of car racing in 2018 I finished as runner-up in the highly competitive RGB Sports 1000 Championship. Building on this, I won the 2019 championship with 11 race wins and a meeting to spare. In 2020 I competed in the British GT championship, achieving a race win in the championship considered to be the pinnacle of sports car racing in the UK.

In 2021 I am driving in the Britcar Championship, in a Praga R1T Evo for CW Performance. The paddock is full of international decision makers looking to explore their business-to-business opportunities. It’s also a new challenge for me as I will be both driving for and running the team .

My ambition is to move up the GT racing ladder with a view to competing in the 24-hour races of Spa and Le-Mans.

We realised from the start that Christopher Wesemael (Chippy) was someone very special after qualifying on pole for his first ever car race. He went on to make pole his own over his first season. Chippy finished second in the championship in this first year because there was a car reliability issue, caused by the increased ethanol content in pump fuel dissolving the fuel tank foam and blocking the fuel system, But for this we believe he could have won the championship in his first year.

His experience and expertise have further developed this year (2019) winning all but two races (to date), second and DNF in these and securing the championship before the final two races.

In addition to his driving skills, he is highly intelligent, witty and excellent company. I am confident that he will go on to much bigger and better things in motor racing.

It is a privilege to know him.
